Marie Jacquot Appointed Chief Conductor of WDR Sinfonieorchester

Marie Jacquot has been named chief conductor of the WDR Sinfonieorchester starting the 2026-27 season.

Jacquot rapidly established herself on the international stage having been appointed principal conductor of the Royal Danish Theatre Copenhagen since 2024-25 and has served as guest conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

Her repertoire ranges from Purcell to contemporary music and she has performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, the Oslo Philharmonic, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. She has also conducted at the Royal Opera House, Semperoper in Dresden Oper Frankfurt, and Bayerische Staatsoper.
