Maria José Siri Steps in For Monica Conesa at Arena di Verona

Maria José Siri is set to perform Verdi’s “Aida” at the Arena di Verona on July 9, stepping in for the originally scheduled Mónica Conesa. 

Siri performed the opera on June 17 in Stefano Poda’s new production. However, she canceled the June 25 performance. Additionally, this season she is set to perform “Nabucco” and “Madama Butterfly” at the Arena di Verona.

Siri will join a cast that includes Yusif Eyvazov, Rafał Siwek, Youngjun Park, Riccardo Rados, and Olesya Petrova. Marco Armiliato conducts.

“Aida” runs through Sept. 8 and will also star Anna Nterebko and Anna Pirozzi. Conesa is scheduled to return to the production on July 21, 2023.
