Maria Jose Siri, Salome Jicia & Lana Kos Lead Teatro Verdi Trieste’s 2023-24 Season

The season opens with Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” in a production by Guy Monavon. Gianna Fratta conducts a cast that includes Lana Kos and Alessandra di Giorgio, Roberto Aronica, and Murat Karahan. Fernando Cisneros and Matteo Peirone also star.
Performance Dates: Nov. 2-12, 2023
Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” will be conducted by Beatrice Venezi and directed by Ivan Stefanutti. Caterina Sala, Paolo Nevi, Alessio Cacciamani, Olga Dyadiv, and Vincenzo Nizzardo.

Giuliana Gianfaldoni Alessia Nadin, and Marco Ciaponi star in New Year’s Eve concert with Giulio Cilona conducting.
Performance Date: Dec. 31, 2023
Salome Jicia sings the title role of Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” with Marco Ciaponi, Laura Verrecchia, Riccardo Fassi, and Veta Pilipenko. Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts Graham Vick’s production. A second cast features Sara Cortolezzis, Mario Bahg, and Alessia Nadin.

Enrico Calesso conducts Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” in a production by Paul Curran.
Performance Dates: Feb. 16-25, 2024
Roman Burdenko and Maria Jose Siri lead Verdi’s “Nabucco” alongside Rafal Siwek, Marko Mimica, Carlo Ventre, and Maria Barakova. Daniel Oren conducts.
Performance Dates: March 22-30, 2024
Laura Verrecchia sings the lead role in Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” alongside Dave Monaco, Juan de Dios Mateos, Carlo Lepore, Vincenzo Nizzardo, Giorgio Caoduro, Pierpaolo Martella, Pablo Ruiz, and Matteo D’Apolito. Enrico Calesso conducts.
Performance Dates: April 26-May 5, 2024
Andrea Silvestrelli and Isabel de Paoli star in Bartók’s “Bluebeard’s Castle.” The work will be presented in a double bill with Fiorenzo Carpi and Giorgio Strehler’s “La Porta Divisoria.”
