Maria José Siri, Marina Rebeka, Francesca Dotto & Olga Peretyatko Lead Teatro Comunale di Bologna’s 2023 Season

The Teatro Comunale di Bologna has announced its 2023 season.

The Anteprima to the season will be “Mirandolina” by Bohuslav Martinů. Oksana Lyniv conducts the production by Gianmaria Aliverta.

Performance Dates: Jan 14 & 15, 2023

The season opens with Oksana Lyniv conducting Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer in a new production by Paul Curran. The opera will star Peter Rose, Goran Jurić, Thomas Johannes Mayer, Sonja Šariće, and Adam Smith.

Performance Dates: Jan. 28-Feb. 1, 2023

Maria José Siri, Francesca Dotto, Luciano Ganci, Antonio Poli, Aoxue Zhu, Aloisa Aisemberg, and Dario Solari star in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.” Daniel Oren conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 19-25, 2023

Bellini’s “Norma” will star Marina Rebeka, Martina Gresia, Stefan Pop, Mikheil Sheshaberidze, Nicola Ulivieri, and Vladimir Sazdovski. Pier Giorgio Morandi conducts the production by Stefania Bonfadelli.

Performance Dates: March 18-25, 2023

Roberta Mantegna, John Osborn, Franco Vassallo, Sara Cortolezzis, Giovanni Meoni, and Riccardo Zanellato star in Verdi’s “I Vespri Siciliani” with Oksana Lyniv conducting. Emma Dante is set to direct.

Performance Dates: April 19-23, 2023

Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” stars Mariangela Sicilia, Maria Novella Malfatti, Davide Giangregorio, Roberto Lorenzi, Vincenzo Nizzardo, Cecilia Molinari, and Chiara Tirotta. Martijn Dendievel conducts the production by Alessandro Talevi.

Performance Dates: May 18-23, 2023

Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino” will be conducted by Asher Fisch and directed by Yannis Kokkos. Roberto Aronica, Angelo Villari, Maria José Siri, Monica Conesa, Stefano Meo, and Roberto de Candia star.

Performance Dates: June 17-22, 2023

Maria José Siri, Roberto Aronica, and Ambrogio Maestri are set to star in Puccini’s “Tosca” in a production by Hugo de Ana. Oksana Lyniv.

Performance Dates: July 21-25, 2023

Rossini’s “Le Comte Ory” will star Antonino Siragusa, César Cortés, Paolo Bordogna, Simone Alberghini, Davide Giangregorio, Federica Guida, Olga Dyadiv, Lamia Beuque, and Giuseppina Bridelli. Oksana Lyniv conducts the production by Hugo de Ana.

Performance Dates: Oct. 18-22, 2023

Karen Gardezabal, Lavinia Bini, Valerio Borgioni, Andrea Vincenzo Bonsignore, Ian Antem, Marco Filippo Romano, and Vincenzo Taormina star in Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore.” Diego Ceretta conducts Victor Garcia Sierra’s production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 24-30, 2023

J. Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” will be presented in time for the holiday season. Cesare Lievi directs the production with Sasha Yankevych conducting. Olga Peretyatko, Mert Süngü, Nataliia Kukhar, Matteo Falcier, Francesco Castoro, Anaïs Mejías, and Sara Fanin star.
