The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has announced a cast change for its performance of “La Traviata” on Feb. 15, 2023.

The company said that due to Plàcido Domingo’s continued illness, he will not sing the performance. As result, Amartuvshin Enkhbat will replace Domingo in the role of Germont.

This is the second performance that Domingo cancels due to illness. He also canceled the performance on Feb. 12 and Enhkbat replaced him.

Enkbat joins a cast that includes Aida Garifullina and Francesco Meli. Zubin Mehta conducts the production by Davide Livermore.

Domingo returns to the production on Feb. 17. “La Traviata” runs through Feb. 22, 2023 with George Petean singing the final performance.
