Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Announces Conductor Change for ‘Carmina Burana’

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has announced a conductor change for its upcoming performance of “Carmina Burana.”

The company said, “We would like to inform the kind audience that the ‘Carmina Burana’ performance, scheduled for July 13, 2023, in the Zubin Mehta Hall, will be conducted by maestro Andrea Battistoni, replacing maestro Paolo Carignani.”

Battistoni has conducted at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper of Berlin, Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg, Palau de les arts of Valencia, Semperoper of Dresden, Arena of Verona, Teatro San Carlo of Naples, and Teatro La Fenice of Venice, among others.

The performance is set to star Maria Kokareva, Jayoung Lee, and Francesco Samuele Venuti.
