Magdalena Kožená, Ekaterina Semenchuk & Judit Kutasi Lead Musikfest Berlin’s 2022 Season

Musikfest Berlin has announced its 2022 season featuring international orchestras and soloists.

Here is a selection of the vocal highlights of the season.

Lucy Crowe, Ann Hallenberg, Giovanni Sala, and William Thomas perform Beethiven’s Missa Solemnis with the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique. John Eliot Gardiner conducts.

Performance Date: August 31, 2022

Magdalena Kožená and Yefim Bronfman perform a recital of music by Brahms, Shostakovich, and Mussorgsky.

Performance Date: Sept. 3, 2022

Igor Levit joins the Orchestra e Coro dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Sir Antonio Pappano in a program with music by Schönberg and Busoni.

Performance Date: Sept. 5, 2022

Heidi Stober and Judit Kutasi lead Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with Sir Donald Runnicles conducting.

Performance Date: Sept. 7, 2022

Georg Nigl, Dirk Rothbrust and Vilde Frang are teh soloists under in the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and Vladimir Jurowski’s concert. The program includes music by Iannis Xenakis, Béla Bartók, and Gustav Mahler.

Performance Date: Sept. 13, 2022

Claudio Monteverdi’s “Vespro della Beata Vergine” will be performed Dorothee Mields, Barbora Kabátková, Benedict Hymas, William Knight, Samuel Boden, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Peter Kooij, and Wolf Matthias Friedrich. The Collegium Vocale Gent and Ensemble of the Collegium Vocale Gent are conducted by Philippe Herreweghe.

Performance Date: Sept. 14, 2022

Ekaterina Semenchuk, Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke, and Wolfgang Koch lead a program with the Rundfunkchor Berlin and Berliner Philharmoniker. Kirill Petrenko conducts the program including music by Iannis Xenakis, Bernd Alois Zimmermann, andLuigi Dallapiccola.
