Magali Simard-Galdès & Florence Bourget Lead Concert at Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours

Soprano Magali Simard-Galdès and mezzo-soprano Florence Bourget headline the upcoming concert at the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours.

The soloists are joined by the Ensemble Clavecin en concert as well as Luc Beauséjour on the organ. Beauséjour will also conduct. The program includes Dietrich Buxtehude‘s “Herr, wenn ich nur Dich hab” (BuxWV 38) and “Chorale Prelude Jesus Christus, unser Heiland, der den Tod überwand, BuxWV 198,” Giovanni Felice Sances’ “Stabat Mater,” and Alessandro Scarlatti’s “Stabat Mater.”

Simard-Galdès is an alumna of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. She won first prize at the International Recital Competition of the Classica Festival in 2018 and at the Canadian Music Competition. Simard-Galdès has performed at the Festival d’Opéra de Québec, the Mexico LiederFest, the Ravinia Steans Music Institute, the Wexford Festival Opera, and more.

Bourget is also a graduate of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal. Her roles include Sesto in Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito,” the Third Lady “Die Zauberflöte,” Wellgunde in Wagner’s “Das Rheingold), Mrs. Grose in Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw,” and Alisa in “Lucia di Lammermoor” by Donizetti. Bourget frequently performs in oratorios and Baroque concerts with the Orchestre Métropolitain and many more.

Audiences are invited to the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours. in Quebec on May 5 at 7:30 p.m.
