By Afton Wooten

The Madison Avenue Baptist Church has opened the application for its 2024-25 Emerging Artists Fellowship Program.

The Madison Avenue Baptist Church new fellowship program offers six talented singers the opportunity to immerse themselves in sacred choral works, opera, art song, musical theater, and chamber and contemporary music. The church’s Minister of Music Aza Sydykov leads the year-long program.

Fellows will participate in the Madison Sounds music series, and special occasions such as Easter and Christmas festivals. Masterclasses and coaching with industry professionals are also perks of the program, as well as professional recordings from many of the public events.

Each fellow will receive a stipend of $1,000 and engage in various responsibilities, including performances, participation in fundraising activities, and contribution to outreach efforts.

The program is open to singers aged 21 and above by the commencement date. Interested applicants are required to submit a video recording featuring two contrasting pieces, along with a resume and biography. Applications are free of charge and must be submitted by August 25, 2024.

The Madison Avenue Baptist Church is an equal opportunity entity, committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
