Lyric Opera of Orange County to Present ‘The Mighty Casey’

Lyric Opera of Orange County will present “The Mighty Casey” on March 28 – 30, 2025.

The opera by William Schuman tells the story of a big baseball game between Centerville and Mudville for the State championship. Casey comes to bat for Mudville, which is behind in the bottom of the ninth. Casey, despite his greatness, strikes out.

The work will star Tzytle Steinman as The Centerville pitcher Snedeker, Bill Grundler as the Watchman, Brooke Iva Lohman as Merry, dancer Ashtar Ashurseen as the Mighty Casey, Jessica Tievens-Schneiderman as Thatcher the Catcher, Sergio Manzo as the Manager of the Mudville Maidens, and Phil Meyer as the soft shoed Umpire.

Caleb Glickmann conducts and Diana Farrell directs.
