Lyric Opera of Chicago to Present ‘Sunday in the Park With Lyric ‘

Lyric Opera of Chicago is set to present “Sunday in the Park with Lyric” on August 20, 2023.

The showcase, which will be led by Enrique Mazzola and the Lyric Opera Orchestra, will feature music from “The Flying Dutchman,” “The Daughter of the Regiment,” “Jenufa, “Cinderella,” “Aida,” and “Champion.”

The performance will be headlined by the singers in the company’s 2023-24  Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center including mezzo-sopranos Lucy Baker and Sophia Maekawa, tenor Travon D. Walker, and bass-baritone Christopher Humbert, Jr., will join eight returning singers of the Ensemble: sopranos Kathryn Henry and Lindsey Reynolds, tenors Ryan Capozzo and Alejandro Luévanos, baritones Laureano Quant and Ian Rucker, and basses Ron Dukes and Wm. Clay Thompson.

The performance kicks off at 7 p.m. local time at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
