Lyric Opera of Chicago & Music of the Baroque to Preview ‘Mozart Immersive: The Soul of A Genius’

The new immersive projection exhibit “Mozart Immersive: The Soul of A Genius” will be previewed after a special performance by members of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Music of the Baroque.

Following vocal and orchestral performances, Constantine Orbelian, the conductor responsible for the musical score, will discuss insights about the exhibit. Attendees will then be given a unique preview of “Mozart Immersive: The Soul of A Genius” before it is opened to the public. Setting this apart from other exhibits is the recorded footage of actors presented alongside the animations. Dancer and actor Mikhail Baryshnikov in the role of Mozart’s father, Leopold. The event will be emceed by WXRT-FM radio host Terri Hemmert.

Included throughout the exhibit are some of Mozart’s well-known compositions, including “Symphony No. 40,” “Requiem,” “Turkish March,” “Ave Verum Corpus,” and selections “The Marriage of Figaro” and “The Magic Flute,” among others.
The creative team consists of Constantine Orbelian, artistic creator Massimiliano Siccardi, composer Luca Longobardi who arranged the score, and artistic director Vittorio Guidotti.

In celebration of Mozart’s birthday, the event will be held on Jan. 27 at the Lighthouse ArtSpace in Chicago. Doors will open at 7 pm, with the lineup starting at 7:30. This event is open to all ages.
