Lyric Opera of Chicago Announces New Members to Board of Directors

The Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced the election of new board of directors members.

The company welcomed Sarah Garvey and Philip G. Lumpkin to the Board. Garvey is the former vice president of corporate relations at the Boeing Company and has worked extensively in mergers and acquisitions and taxation.

Meanwhile, Lumpkin previously worked as corporate vice president for provider affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. He has also served on the board of the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center since 2016.

“We warmly welcome Sarah Garvey and Philip G. Lumpkin to Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Board of Directors,” said Sylvia Neil, Board Chair, in an official press release. “Their extensive history with the company, coupled with their diverse backgrounds and unwavering support for the arts, perfectly align with our mission. We look forward to their contributions to the company.”
