
Ludovic Tézier Cancels Last Performances of ‘Simon Boccanegra’ in Berlin
By Francisco SalazarLudovic Tézier has withdrawn from his performances of “Simon Boccanegra” at the Berlin State Opera.
The baritone took to social media and said, “Dear friends, I am sorry to confirm that the rest of my series at the Staatsoper Berlin has to be cancelled. Prudence must lead and rest must prevail. I am sure you will understand. Take good care of yourselves. Yours, Ludovic.”
Tézier had previously canceled his March 31 performance due to illness.
The Berlin State Opera has yet to announce his replacement for the April 2 and 4 performances. “Simon Boccanegra” stars Elena Stikhina, Marko Mimica, Fabio Sartori, and Alfredo Daza. Eun Sun Kim conducts the production by Federico Tiezzi.
