Lucia Lucas, Aviva Fortunata, Aude Extrémo, Andrew Love Headline Pacific Opera Victoria’s 2022 Season

Canada’s Pacific Opera Victoria has announced its 2022 season.

The season kicks off with Bizet’s “Carmen” starring Aude Extrémo, Adam Luther, and Lauren Margison. Brenna Corner directs the production. Timothy Vernon conducts.

“This will be the company’s 5th Carmen,” Timothy Vernon, the company’s artistic directors said in a press statement. “It is always exciting, and this production will be vital, dramatic, and wholly original.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 23 – March 1, 2022

Next up will be “Don Giovanni,” starring Lucia Lucas, Aviva Fortunata, and Owen McCausland. Maria Lamont directs. Vernon conducts.

Performance Date: April 20 – 26, 2022

The company will also present a filmed opera. First up will be “The Garden of Alice” by Elizabeth Raum in collaboration with conductor Timothy Vernon and director Glynis Leyshon.

Screening Dates: Feb. 24 & 26, 2022 

Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s “For a Look or a Touch” is the next thing to take to the screen. Andrew Love and C. David Johnson headline the film by Michael Shamata. Vernon conducts.

Screening Dates: April 21 & 23, 2022 

All live and screen productions will be shown at Victoria’s Royal Theatre.
