Louise Alder, Andrè Schuen & Ying Fang Lead Palau de la Música Catalana’s 2023-24 Season

The Palau de la Música Catalana has announced some of its 2023-24 season, which is labeled Palu 100.

Here is a look at the Vocal performances announced thus far.

Mozart’s Requiem will be performed by Ying Fang, Beth Taylor, Lawrence Kilsby, and Nahuel di Pierro. The Ensemble Pygmalion will be conducted by Raphäel Pichon.

Performance Date: Oct. 19, 2023

Händel’s “Messiah” will be performed by the Insula Orchestra and Laurence Equilbey. Soloists include Louise Alder, Iestyn Davies, Stuart Jackson, and David Ireland.

Performance Date: Dec. 21, 2023

Eleanor Lyons and Domen Krizaj star in Brahms’ Requiem. The Orfeó Català, Cor de Cambra del Palau, and Balthasar Neumann Chor & Ensemble will be conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock.

Performance Date: Feb 13, 2024

Eleanor Lyons, Anna Terterjan, and Maximilian Schmitt perform Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2 with the Orfeó Català,  Cor de Cambra del Palau, and Balthasar Neumann Chor & Ensemble. Thomas Hengelbrock conducts.

Performance Date: Feb. 14, 2024

Haydn’s “The Creation” will be performed by Jone Martínez, Jorge Navarro, and José Antonio López. The Cor Jove de l’Orfeó Català and Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona will be conducted by Marta Gardolinksa.

Performance Date: March 1, 2024

John Eliot Gardiner conducts Händel’s “Israel in Egypt.” The Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists also perform.

Performance Date: March 18, 2024

Andrè Schuen performs alongside the Ensemble de l’Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migon. The program includes music by Wagner and Mahler.

Performance Date: March 19, 2024
