“The Los Angeles Master Chorale is deeply grateful for the opportunity to share our artistic home with our friends and colleagues in the Busan Metropolitan Chorus,” said Terry Knowles, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, in an official press statement issued by the company. “We are honored to make music together as part of this important celebration of unity and alliance, and we hope it is just the beginning of a partnership that flourishes in the future. We welcome our new friends to Los Angeles!”
“I believe this is an excellent way to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the alliance between our two nations, as well as the 120th anniversary of the arrival of the first Korean immigrants,” added Youngwan Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles. “The KCGLA has been celebrating the 70th anniversary of the ROK-U.S. alliance with various events throughout the year, and this one is shaping up to be just as meaningful. With some of the greatest musical talent of two artistic worlds coming together in the name of peace and friendship, I am both honored and humbled to be given a chance to behold the fruits of their labors.”
