The little OPERA theatre of ny is set to give the world premiere of “Jupiter’s Journey to the Earth” with Baryshnikov Arts.

“Jupiter’s Journey to the Earth” is a family-friendly chamber opera sung in English. The new work is based on the story of “Philemon and Baucis” from Ovid’s “Metamorphoses” and pulls from Franz Joseph Haydn’s opera “Philemon und Baucis, oder Jupiters Reise auf die Erde.”  The production mixes puppetry, opera, and instruments.

The premiere performances take place May 10 – 12 with both matinée and evening performances at the Jerome Robbins Theater at Baryshnikov Arts.
