little OPERA theatre of ny Announces 2 Live Streamed Concerts

The little OPERA theatre of ny is set to present two live streamed concerts in April and June 2021.

The April showcase, entitled “Zemlinskys Zimmer” will spotlight the music of Austrian composer Alexander Zemlinsky, including scenes from his opera “Eine Florentinische Tragödie.” The performance will feature soprano Katy Lindhart, baritone Eric McKeever, and tenor Nicholas Simpson. Catherine Miller will act as music director and pianist for the showcase.

The live stream will take place live from St. John’s in the Village.

Stream Date: April 16, 2021 

The second concert in the series is “Monteverdi & Other Treasures from the Seicento.” Also set to take place live from St. John’s in the Village, the showcase will present music from “Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda” as well as works by such Monteverdi contemporaries as Barbara Strozzi and Dario Castello. Tenor Raúl Melo will headline the cast, which will be fully announced at a later date. Elliot Figg conducts and performs at the Harpsichord.
