Lithuanian National Opera Postpones ‘Anna Bolena’

The Lithuanian National Opera has postponed the premiere of Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The company postponed the opening dates on the recommendation of the National Centre for public health.

“Anna Bolena” was set to open August 25 and 27 with Francesca Sassu in the title role and Raffaella Lupinacci as Giovanna Seymour. The company announced that new dates will be set at a later time and spectators with tickets to the aforementioned “Anna Bolena” performances will be requested to follow the information on the theater’s website.

The opera is currently set to open on Sept. 26 with Joana Gedmintaitė in the title role, Justina Gringytė as Giovanna and Michele Angelini as Percy.

Lithuania currently has 2,528 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 82 confirmed deaths.
