Lise Davidsen is set to headline a new release of Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” for Decca Classics.

The recording was made during concert performances with the Oslo Opera on August 22 and 24, 2024.

The new release will feature Davidsen alongside Gerald Finley and Stanislas de Barbeyrac. Edward Gardner, the Oslo Opera House’s new music director, conducts the Opera Orchestra and the Opera Chorus. The cast also includes Brindley Sherratt, Anna Kissjudit, and Eirik Grøtvedt.

The performances and recording mark Davidsen’s role debut as Senta and, according to her management company, this will be the one and only time that Davidsen will take on the role of Senta.

Davidsen is an exclusive recording artist for Decca Classics and has already released four solo albums including a Verdi and Wagner album and a Christmas record. This season the soprano performs the title role of “Tosca” at the Metropolitan Opera, Berin State Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, and Wiener Staatsoper.
