Lise Davidsen, Sophie Bevan, Iestyn Davies & Carolyn Sampson Lead Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts’ 2026 Season

The Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts has announced its 2026 season which will be held between June 12 and 28, 2026.

Here is a look at the vocal performances.

Festival Academy Masterclass will be led by Lise Davidsen. She will coach alumni singers from the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme, each accompanied by acclaimed pianist James Baillieu.

Nicolas Altstaedt and Friends will feature Anna-Lena Elbert, Benjamin Marquise Gilmore, Nicolas Altstaedt, and Ryan Wigglesworth. The program will include music by Tom Coult, Birtwistle, Britten, Shostakovich, and Alexander Blok.

Sophie Bevan and Ryan Wigglesworth perform music by Britten, Mussorgsky, and Ryan Wigglesworth.

Performance Date: June 18, 2026


Britten Sinfonia ll will feature the Britten Sinfonia and mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston. The program includes François Joubert-Caillet, Charpentier, Stravinsky, John Woolrich, and Britten.

Federico Fiorio, Chiara Skerath, Iestyn Davies, and Nick Pritchard perform Handel’s “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” with La Nuova Musica.

Nicky Spence, Sean Shibe, and Francesca Lauri perform Schubert and Britten.

Performance Date: June 24, 2026


Nicky Spence leads a masterclass with Britten Pears Young Artists.

Carolyn Sampson will perform alongside the Dunedin consort.
