For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on operatic or vocal performances.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Players will perform alongside soprano Sophia Burgos, baritone John Brancy, and pianist Alessio Bax in a concert featuring music by Dvorák, Bartók, and Gandolfi.
Performance Date: Jan. 23, 2022
Conductor Jakub Hrusa will conduct a performance of Janacek’s “Glagolitic Mass” with Katerina Kneziková, Sasha Cooke, Brandon Jovanovich, and Adam Plachetka.
Performance Dates: Feb. 3 – 5, 2022
Soprano Anu Komsi will headline a concert featuring the world premiere of the orchestral version of Kaija Saariaho’s “Saarikoski Songs.” Andris Nelsons conducts the concert, which also features music by Pärt, Shostakovich, and Stravinsky.
Performance Dates: Feb. 24 – March 1, 2022
Andris Nelsons will present a concert performance of “Wozzeck” starring Bo Skovhus, Christine Goerke, Sasha Cooke, Christopher Ventris, Mauro Peter, and Franz Hawlata.
Performance Dates: March 10 – 12, 2022
Soprano Amanda Majeski, tenor Ian Bostridge, and baritone Matthias Goerne will perform Britten’s “War Requiem” under the baton of Sir Antonio Pappano.
Performance Dates: March 31 – April 2, 2022
Andris Nelsons will team up with soprano Lise Davidsen in a program dedicated to the music of Strauss.
Performance Dates: April 21, 2021
Marlis Petersen will headline a concert featuring the final scene of “Salome.” Andris Nelsons conducts.
Performance Dates: April 28 – 30, 2022
