Lise Davidsen Reveals Future Roles

By Francisco Salazar

Lise Davidsen revealed she wants to continue doing more Verdi and Puccini.

In a recent interview, in which the soprano was named the equivalent of opera’s Taylor Swift, the Norwegian soprano admitted she wants to sing “Un Ballo in Maschera.”

She said, “The Verdi has now been a very big thing for me to get to do ‘Don Carlo’ and then ‘Forza’ and I would like to do a ‘Un Ballo in Maschera.’ And then of course ‘Tosca,’ it’s a really big thing for me next season. And then ever further away, maybe the bigger Wagner roles. I hope that the Verdi, Puccini, Strauss world can be my plan for some more years.”

Next season, Davidsen is set to make her role debut as Isolde, singing the second act of “Tristan und Isolde” with the Bavarian Symphony. She is also set to sing “Tosca” in Munich, New York, and Vienna.
