By Francisco Salazar

Teatro Galli in Rimini in Italy will present Verdi’s rarely performed work “Aroldo.”

The opera will be presented on August 27 and 29 and will mark the return of the work to Rimini where it world premiere in 1857.

The new production is a co-production with the Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna, Teatro Luciano Pavarotti di Modena, and Teatro Municipale di Piacenza.

Manlio Benzi will conduct the work with Emilio Sala directing the production. Antonio Corianò stars in the title role with Lidia Fridman as Mina, and Michele Govi as Egberto. Adriano Gramigni (Briano) and Cristiano Olivieri (Govino) round out the cast.

For audiences not in Italy, Opera Streaming will broadcast the opera on its YouTube page and on its website. The opera will be available for several months following the stream.
