Philadelphia Orchestra announces its 2026-27 season. This article only features vocal concerts.
Opening night features soloists Leah Hawkins, J’Nai Bridges, Issachah Savage, and Ryan Speedo Green in Beethoven “Symphony” No. 9. They are joined by the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir led by Joe Miller. The U.S. premiere of Hisaishi’s “Orbis” is also slated. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts.
Performance Date: September 24, 2026
“Carmina Burana” stars Janai Brugger, Jonah Hoskins, and Will Liverman, with the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Commonwealth Youth Choir, Philadelphia Boys Choir, and Philadelphia Girls Choir. Directors are Joe Miller, Dominique DeSilva, and Jeffrey R. Smith. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts.
Performance Dates: October 22 – 25, 2026
Joélle Harvey, Iestyn Davies, Andrew Haji, and Neal Davies are soloists in Händel’s “Messiah.” The Philadelphia Symphonic Choir joins. Bernard Labadie conducts.
Performance Dates: December 4 -5, 2026
Next is Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio” with Carolyn Sampson, Christophe Dumaux, Jonghyun Park, and Andrzej Filonczyk as soloists. Philadelphia Symphonic Choir performs. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts.

The Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia led by Dominick DiOrio presents “The Glorious Sound of Christmas®.” Anthony Parnther conducts.

Sopranos and Altos of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir serve as soloists in Holst’s “The Planets.” Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts.

Stanislas de Barbeyrac stars in the title role Wagner’s “Lohengrin.” Elza van den Heever, Rebecca Nash, Brian Mulligan, and Soloman Howard join the concert performances. Donald Palumbo directs the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts.

Karen Cargill along with sopranos and altos of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir solo in Mahler’s “Symphony” No. 3. They are joined by the Commonwealth Youth Choir, Philadelphia Boys Choir, and Philadelphia Girls Choir. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts.
