Layla Claire, Rame Lahaj, Marie-Josée Lord, Philippe Sly, John Brancy Headline Opéra de Montréal’s 2021-22 Season

The Opéra de Montréal has announced its 2021-22 season which will feature three opera productions plus an “Opera à la carte” series.

First up, the company will present a double bill of “Riders” at Sea” and “Le Flambeau de la Nuit,” which will star Allyson McHardy, Andrea Núñez, Lucie St-Martin, Geoffrey Schellenberg, Sarah Dufresne, Mishael Jedidah Eusebio, and Matthew Li. Hubert Tanguay-Labrosse conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 25 & 26, 2021

Next up will be Verdi’s “La Traviata” starring Marie-Josée Lord, Rame Lahaj, Pascale Spinney, and James Westman. Alain Trudel conducts a production by Alain Gauthier.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29 – Feb. 6, 2022

Julien Bilodeau and Michel Marc Bouchard’s “La Beauté du Monde” will star Philippe Sly, John Brancy, Julie Boulianne, Layla Claire, Isaiah Bell, Jean-Michel Richer, and Marc Hervieux. Jean-Marie Zeitouni conducts a production by Florent Siaud. 

Performance Dates: March 19 – 31, 2022

“The Magic Flute” will be presented in Suzanne Andrade and Barrie Kosky’s iconic production. Aaron Blake, Kim-Lillian Strebe, Richard Sveda, Ana Durlovski, and Christian Zaremba star. Christopher Allen conducts.

Performance Dates: May 7-15, 2022
