Lawrence Brownlee, Ana María Martinez, Michael Fabiano, Mariusz Kwiecień Headline San Francisco Opera’s Streams in April
By David SalazarSan Francisco Opera has announced its streaming slate for the first half of April.
It all kicks off with a production of “Don Pasquale.” Donizetti’s comic masterpiece is presented in a 2016 production starring Lawrence Brownlee, Lucas Meachem, Heidi Stober, and Maurizio Muraro in the title role.
The production was directed by Laurent Pelly and was made in co-production with Santa Fe Opera and the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Giuseppe Finzi conducted the performance.

Next up is “The Fall of the House of Usher,” presented in a double bill of operas by Gordon Getty (“Usher House”) and Debussy (“La Chute de la Maison Usher”). The two operas star Brian Mulligan as Roderick Usher. The Getty work also stars Jason Bridges, Anthony Reed, Jamielyn Duggan, and Jacqueline Piccolino. Debussy’s opera stars Edward Nelson, Joel Sorensen. Lawrence Foster conducts both works.

The company will also present Verdi’s “Don Carlo” in a production by Emilio Sagi starring Michael Fabiano, Ana María Martinez, René Pape, Mariusz Kwiecień, and Nadia Krasteva. Nicola Luisotti conducts.
