Lawrence Brownlee Joins Juilliard School of Music Faculty

The Juilliard School of Music has announced that Lawrence Brownlee will join Juilliard’s Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts as distinguished visiting faculty.

Brownlee, who is a leading tenor in the world, will join the faculty this spring semester.

“We greatly look forward to welcoming Lawrence Brownlee to the Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts,” Juilliard President Damian Woetzel said. “As an artist and a teacher Lawrence will be such an inspiring influence on our young singers and on our entire Juilliard community.”

Brownlee added, “I am incredibly honored and excited to have the opportunity to work with the talented young singers of The Juilliard School. The name Juilliard is synonymous with the very highest level of excellence, and I cannot wait to meet its future stars.”

Brownlee is a leading Bel Canto tenor who has performed all over the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Palau de les Arts, Opernhaus Zurich, San Francisco Opera, and Lyric Opera of Chicago, among others.
