LA Philharmonic has announced that the cancelation of all scheduled concerts at the Walt Disney Concert Hall through June 9, 2021, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“While this news may not be surprising in this climate, it is heartbreaking to keep our venues silent and not be able to share in the experience of live music with you,” stated the LA Philharmonic on its official website.

The news comes days after the New York Philharmonic had announced that it would cancel the entirety of its own 2020-21 season for the first time in its history.

Other major U.S. organizations to bring down the curtain on the entire 2020-21 season include the Metropolitan Opera and Boston Symphony Orchestra.
