The Los Angeles Opera will present a free simulcast of “Don Giovanni” on Sept. 23, 2023.

Kicking off at 6 p.m. local time, audiences will be able to check out the opera on LED screens at La Mirada Community Regional Park and the Santa Monica Pier. This is the 10th “Opera at the Beach” simulcast to Santa Monica Pier and the first time the company brings the program to La Mirada Regional Park.

The famed Mozart masterpiece, which will be conducted by James Conlon, will star Lucas Meachem in the title role, alongside Guanqun Yu, Isabel Leonard, Anthony León, Craig Colclough, Meigui Zhang, Alan Williams, and Peixin Chen.

“Bring your friends, a blanket and picnic out to the Santa Monica Pier for a special night under the stars with the LA Opera for ‘Don Giovanni,'” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath in an official press statement issued by the LA Opera. “The simulcast brings the magic of the live performance to the beach, connecting more LA County communities to the power of opera. Our office is thrilled to be part of this beloved Third District tradition and unique LA experience.”
