LA Opera Announces Rigoletto Performance on June 12 Will Go On

By Francisco Salazar

LA Opera has announced that the June 12 performance of “Rigoletto” will take place as planned, despite the ongoing curfew restrictions in downtown Los Angeles.

The company said that “local officials have granted an exception to curfew restrictions to accommodate attendees of downtown events and performing arts venues, including the Music Center. The performance, which begins at 7:30pm, will end at approximately 10:30pm.”

The company added, “Attendees will need to leave the theater immediately afterward without lingering on the Music Center campus. All ticket holders should have their tickets with them while in the area, either printed or digital.”

The curfew restrictions began on June 10 following LA protests which began on June 6. To date, LA Opera, the Music Center campus and the surrounding streets have not been directly impacted by protest or law enforcement activity beyond the curfew.

Rigoletto” stars Lisette Oropesa and Quinn Kelsey.
