Kristine Opolais Stars in Boston Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk’

Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has announced two of its 2023-24 Carnegie Hall performances, one of which is a concert performance of Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk” on January 30, 2024.

The concert will present the opera in its entirety with the BSO and Tanglewood Festival Chorus. Andris Nelsons conducts.

Kristine Opolais stars as Katerina Izmailova, Pavel Černoch as Sergei, Sergei Skorokhodov sings Zinovy Izmailov, and Ildar Abdrazakov plays the roles of Boris Izmailov and Ghost of Boris.
