Kristine Opolais, Gaston Rivero, & Justina Gringytė Lead Lithuanian National Opera’s 2023-24 Season

The Lithuanian National Opera has announced its 2023-24 season.

The season opens with Verdi’s “Aida” conducted by Sesto Quatrini and starring Kristīne Opolais, Kseniya Bakhritdinova, and Viktorija Miškūnaitė sharing the title role. They will be joined by Gaston Rivero, Liudas Norvaisas, Justina Gringytė, Tadas Girininkas, Liudas Mikalauskas, Arūnas Malikėnas, and Kostas Smoriginas. 

Performance Dates: Nov. 10-18, 2023

Vladimiras Prudnikovas will be the artistic director of “Zarzuela.”

Performance Dates: Dec. 10, 2023-May 30, 2024

Julius Geniušas conducts Verdi’s “La Traviata.” 

Performance Dates: Dec. 21-31, 2023

Sesto Quatrini and Martynas Stakionis conduct Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hofmann.”

Performance Dates: Jan. 26-Feb. 3, 2024

Opera-ballet “Lamb of God,” composed by Feliksas Bajoras will be performed in production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 23-25, 2024

Arthur Espiritu and Edgaras Montvidas sing the title role of Gounod’s “Faust” with Almas Švilpa, Kamilė Bontè, Steponas Zonys, and Ieva Prudnikovaitė. Gintaras Rinkevičius conducts.

Performance Dates: March 7-10, 2024

Aušrinė Stundytė stars in Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle.”  The opera will be presented on a double bill with “The Miraculous Mandarin.”

Performance Dates: March 21-23, 2024

Emanuele Quaranta conducts Bizet’s “Carmen” with  Ieva Prudnikovaitė, Edgaras Montvidas, Jānis Apeinis, and Viktorija Miškūnaitė.

Performance Dates: April 4-6, 2024

Bernstein’s “Candide” will be conducted by Ričardas Šumila and will star Tomas Pavilionis, Margarita Levchuk, and Jovita Vaškevičiūtė .

Performance Dates: April 18-20, 2024

Ričardas Šumila and Julius Geniušas conduct Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier.” The cast includes Joana Gedmintaitė, Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Jelena Kordić, Steponas Zonys, Arūnas Malikėnas, Monika Pleškytė, and Lina Dambrauskaitė.
