Kristina Newman-Scott Names New Executive Director of Jerome L. Greene Performance Space

New York Public Radio has appointed Kristina Newman-Scott, Executive Director of The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space.

In her new role, Newman-Scott will oversee NYPR’s broadcast venue and street-level event space and be responsible for setting the direction including the strategy for all curatorial, audience operational, and financial growth.

“I look forward to working alongside the NYPR team to build on the extraordinary legacy of Greene Space, especially as the opportunities to connect with each other, both virtually and in person, are more important than ever,” said Newman-Scott in an official statement.

“I am delighted to welcome a seasoned officer like Kristina and we will begin a new chapter for The Greene Space. She will continue her groundbreaking work, bringing artists and journalists together, for an important audience, as we move into the future,” added Ed Yim, Senior Vice President of NYPR and Chief Content Officer of WQXR.

Newman-Scott was born in Kingston, Jamaica, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Edna Manley College of Visual Arts. She worked as a practicing artist and radio and television presenter in her home country, before moving to the United States. She has over 20 years of experience in arts and culture leadership and was named one of the 50 Most Powerful People in the Arts in New York City and State.
