/kor/ productions to Present ‘PRIDE’ Featuring Songs by Felix Jarrar

By Chris Ruel

Chicago-based /kor/ productions kicks off the first production of its 2021-22 hybrid season with “PRIDE” on June 24, 2021, at 8:00 pm EDT.

This virtual event will feature world premieres of new songs written by award-winning composer Felix Jarrar, and performed by soprano Tracy Cox and bass-baritone Joseph Beutel.

In a press release, /kor/ noted that the songs written for “PRIDE” experiment with a darker musicality less typical of Jarrar, exploring themes of isolation, longing for a partner’s presence, and the joy of reuniting. Jarrar will be interspersing his songs with tender and intimate reflections on love.

/kor/’s hybrid season enables audiences to experience both in-person and virtual events based on preference.

Tickets for “PRIDE” range from $12-20 and are purchasable at the /kor/ productions website.
