Knoxville Opera Unveils 2024-25 Season

Knoxville Opera has unveiled its 2024-25 season.

The first performance of the season will be an “Opera’s Greatest Hits” concert that honors conductor Robert Lyall.

Performance Dates: Sept. 22, 2024

On the opera side of things, first up on the slate is Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance.” The production is directed by Dean Anthony and conducted by Joseph Mechavich.

Performance Dates: Oct. 25 – 27, 2024

Next up is “La Bohème.”

Performance Dates: Jan. 31 & Feb. 2, 2025

There will be a concert of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony alongside the Oak Ridge Symphony.

Performance Dates: April 5, 2025

Closing out the season is the “comic-rap-scrap-metal-opera” “Stuck Elevator” by Byron Au Yong and Aaron Jafferis. The opera is co-produced with the River and Rail Theatre. Keturah Stickann directs while Judith Yan conducts.

Performance Dates: May 14-18, 2025
