Knoxville Opera Announces 2023-24 Season

Knoxville Opera has released its line up for the 2023-24 season.

The season will commence with Verdi’s “Falstaff” at the historic Tennessee Theatre. Steven Condy, Kevin Godinez, Derrek Stark, and Tori Patricia Franklin lead the cast. Dean Anthony directs alongside conductor Jorge Parodi.

Performance Dates: October 13 & 15, 2023

Starting the new year is Verdi’s “La Traviata.” Anya Matanovič sings the role of Violetta, with Chauncey Packer as Alfredo, and Malcolm MacKenzie as Germont. Keturah Stickann serves as stage director with Joseph Mechavich conducting.

Performance Dates: February 16 & 18, 2024

Flora Hawk takes on the title role in Pauline Viardot’s “Cendrillon” which takes place at the Bijou Theatre. Jacqueline Brecheen sings La Fée. Once again, Anthony heads stage direction. Kelly Kuo conducts.

Performance Dates: May 3, 4, & 5, 2024

The Knoxville Opera Chorus and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra perform Verdi’s “Requiem” at the Tennessee Theatre.

Performance Dates: May 16 & 17, 2024

Tenor Lawrence Brownlee in collaboration with the National Association of Teachers of Singing present a special event.

Performance Date: June 29, 2024 (Tentative)
