Toledo Opera has announced its annual fundraising Opera Gala starring Met Opera tenor Chauncey Packer at the Toledo Club on May 6, 2022.

Packer appeared as Spinner in the Met run of Terrence Blanchard’s “Fire Shut Up in My Bones” and will reprise the role with the Lyric Opera of Chicago later this month. For the Gala, the tenor will perform music ranging from arias to Broadway and repertoire with the Toledo Opera Resident Artists. Co-Artistic Director and Head of Music Preparation, Maestro Kevin Bylsma, will accompany.

“Audiences around the world have had the privilege to hear Chauncey Packer perform in everything from opera to musical theatre and jazz! What a thrill it is to introduce him to Toledo for this great event—I can’t wait for this year’s Gala!” said Bylsma in a press statement.

The evening kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour, followed by the concert at 7:00.
