Killer Queen Opera & Gallery Particulier to Present ‘MADAM’

By David Salazar

Killer Queen Opera and Gallery Particulier will present the new opera “MADAM” for three performances in Flatbush on Nov. 7 – 11, 2025.

The site-specific production will be staged in the gallery’s intimate performance space.

The opera, by composer Felix Jarrar and librettist Bea Goodwin, centers on Polly Adler, a Jewish immigrant and prominent Prohibition-era New York madam whose influence on the cultural life of the 1920s often remained unseen. The work explores her journey from Belarusian newcomer to a figure embedded in the city’s social elite.

The production is directed and choreographed by Christina Swanson, with Giulia Magarelli as Music Director and Mari Moriarty as Intimacy Director.

The creative team includes composer Felix Jarrar, librettist Bea Goodwin, choreographer Curtis Faulkner, and pianist Evan Main. Karina Camile Parker stars as Polly, alongside Krissy Terwilliger as Joan, Trysten Reynolds as Netty, Aja Nile Brimm as Garnet, and Amy Guarino as Ruth, with ensemble members Lucas Bouk, Pedro Sequera, Nestor Carrillo, and Milan Furtado.
