Kentucky Opera Announces 2020-21 Season

The Kentucky Opera has announced its 2020-21 season celebrating its 69th season. The season will feature three productions all performed at the Brown Theatre. The season will also celebrate love and community through a modern lens. Casting and production details are set to be announced.

The season opens with Puccini’s “La Bohème,” one of the most popular operas in the repertory featuring some of the most popular arias.

Performance Dates: Sept. 11 & 13, 2020

During the coming Halloween weekend, Kentucky Opera will bring Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

Performance Dates: Oct. 31 & Nov. 1, 2020

The season ends with Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” in a new groundbreaking retelling of the classic Greek myth in Kentucky Opera’s collaboration with Louisville Ballet.

Performance Dates: Feb. 12 & 14, 202
