Kennedy Center Pauses Free Tours

In a memo viewed by The New York Times, Brooks Boeke, the director of the volunteer program, said the center was putting a “temporary pause” on the tour program. The memo did not provide a reason for halting the tour program.
According to the New York Times, the tour pauses may have been linked to a volunteer tour guide who said President Trump had killed the performing arts center.
The volunteer tour guide who spoke with times, Sandy Weiswasser said, “This place used to be really thriving and busy and crowded. Now it’s a black hole.”
This is the latest news out of the Kennedy Center after Trump took over and attempted to rename it. The center is currently under investigation for mismanagement and there are currently no scheduled performances in the coming months. The National Symphony Orchestra has yet to announce a 2026-27 season.
