Kathleen Echols & Brian Mengler Lead Opera Vermont’s ‘La Bohème’

Opera Vermont  is set to perform Puccini’sLa Bohème” at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, Vermont.

The production, which will be shown on Feb. 13 and 14, 2026, will star Kathleen Echols (Mimì), Brian Mengler (Rodolfo), Brad Noffsinger Morrison (Marcello), Erin O’Rourke (Musetta), Darrell J. Jordan (Schaunard), Brian J. Alvarado (Colline), and Alex Karau (Benoît/Alcindoro).

Joshua Collier will direct the production which will include live painting, projected into the theatre by Priscilla Heine. The production will be accompanied by members of the New England Repertory Orchestra, with Dr. Maria Rabbia at the piano, conducted by Opera Vermont’s Music Director Cailin Marcel Manson.

In a statement, Collier said, “Opera is the ultimate collaborative art form. Our mission is rooted in accessibility and in building bridges—between communities, between venues, and between artists and artistic mediums. Bringing Priscilla Heine into the creative process for this opera expands the definition of what opera can be in our region, and it invites audiences to experience the well-loved La Bohème with fresh eyes and fully open hearts.”
