The Symphony Orchestra and Choir of Spanish Radio and Television (Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro RTVE) is set to present Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem” on Oct. 30 and 31, 2025, at the Teatro Monumental.

The showcase will feature soprano Kateřina Kněžíková and baritone Christian Immler as the soloists. They will perform alongside Music Director Jaime Martín.

“The German Requiem is one of the most profound spiritual works of the Romantic repertoire,” said Kněžíková per an official press release. “It brings both solace and catharsis, and it is a great honor to sing it here in Madrid with such an outstanding orchestra and choir.”

Kněžíková is a principal artist of the National Theatre Prague and has also performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, among others. Immler has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and Concentus Musicus Wien, among others.

Founded in 1965, the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir perform regularly in national television and radio broadcasts.
