Karen Slack to Debut in Colombia’s Festival Internacional de Música Sacra de Bogotá

Karen Slack is set to make her Colombian debut performing a program entitled “Voces AfroEspirituales” on Oct. 1, 2021.

The soprano will perform Gospel Music and music by African Americans at the Auditorio Teresa Cuervo Borda of the Museo Nacional de Colombia.

In a statement from the Festival Internacional de Música Sacra de Bogotá, the organization noted that this year’s theme is “Love” and that they are excited to include Slack in the edition.

The program, which is set to begin at 6:30, will also be broadcast on Canal Capital at 8:00 p.m. Entrance into the concert is free of charge.

Slack is a well-known singer who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Washington National Opera, and San Francisco Opera. She is also the co-president of the Women’s Opera Network.
