Kansas City Symphony to Build New Live Music Venue
By Afton MarkayThe Kansas City Symphony has announced that it is in the process of developing plans to build a new live music venue.
The proposed project will offer a fresh performance space not just for the orchestra, but for the wider city as well. The orchestra will use the venue for performances that use amplification or other enhanced production formats, and it will be designed with the capacity to host live performances of film score.
The venue will seat approximately 4,600 guests, and is likely to open in 2028. When not in use by the Symphony, it will host touring artists from a wide range of musical genres, and it is expected to bring in around 300,000 visitors each year.
This venue allows us to welcome more artists to Kansas City and ensures that the Symphony will continue serving this community for generations to come,” said Danny Beckley, President and CEO of the Kansas City Symphony, in a press release.
