Kansas City Symphony Announces COVID-19 Protocols for 2021-22 Season

By David Salazar

Kansas City Symphony is following the footsteps of several U.S. organizations and asking that its audience members all show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend performances.

Per a new health regulation issued via the company’s official website, all audience members will be required to show proof of vaccination and will need to wear masks at all times during performances. Children under 12, who have no access to a vaccine for COVID-19 at this time, will be unable to attend concerts for the Kansas City Symphony.

The company did note that this would affect its Family series concerts, currently scheduled for Oct. 3 and Nov. 21. However, it is exploring options for moving those events to the Spring season.

The memo on the website does not site any exceptions to the rule.
