Kaileigh Riess Stars in ‘The Singing Cabinet of Mathilde LeBeau’

Opera on Tap is set to present “The Singing Cabinet of Mathilde LeBeau.”

Soprano Kaileigh Riess and actress Carla Kissane star in the concert which is the first of six installations that total up to the full opera, “The Singing Cabinets.” The story follows an automaton constructed in the likeness of a Mathilde LeBeau, a celebrated opera singer, who mysteriously disappeared in 1891, and is a featured piece in the collection of The Institute for Parapsychological Research.

“The Singing Cabinet of Mathilde LeBeau” is c0-created by Kamala Sankaram and Jerre Dye. Ramona Ponce and Dye are production designers. Dye directs.

The Pen and Brush Gallery hosts the March 7 and 8 concerts as part of its Every Woman Biennial events.
