Julieth Lozano, Marianne Beate Kielland, Stefano Malferrari Headline XVIII Cartagena Music Festival

The XVIII Cartagena Music Festival kicks off this January.

Here is the rundown of the vocal performances that comprise “Sinfonía de la Naturaleza.”

“Haugtussa: To Sing the Nature” will feature music by Schubert, Grieg, and Schumann with such artists as Marianne Beate Kielland, Stefano Malferrari, and the Nordic String Quartet.

Performance Date: Jan. 6, 2024

Mezzo-soprano Marianne Beate Kielland will also headline a concert dedicated to the music of Grieg, Borgstrøm, and Svendsen entitled “Grieg’s Music: Between Late Romantic and Modernity.”

Mezzo-soprano Marianne Beate Kielland headlines “The Sound of Nature: Baroque, Classical, and Modern.” The program includes music by Vivaldi, Nordqvist, Strauss II, Sibelius, Nielsen, and Gade.

Stefano Lamferrari headlines a program featuring music by Rossini, Kilar, Mendelssohn, Klami, and Merikanto, among others.

Marianne Beate Kielland and Peter Jablonski deliver a recital “The Voice of Nature” featuring music by Sibelius, de Frumerie, Larsson, and Nordqvist.

Performance Date: Jan. 10, 2024

Julieth Lozano performs music by Luis Carlos Figueroa and Adolfo Mejia Navarro. Alejandro Roca joins her.

Performance Date: Jan. 12, 2024

Julieth Lozano will take the stage in the festival-closing concert alongside the Orquesta Sinfónica de Cartagena for music by Sibelius, Pedro Morales Pino, Alfvén, Grieg, and Tovar.
