The Juilliard School has announced a new partnership with Carnegie Hall titled “Juilliard at Zankel Hall.”

The series will kick off on Monday, March 24, 2025  and April 3, 2025 with two programs. The first is dedicated to new works and premieres while the latter celebrates the music of Meredith Monk.

The March 24 showcase will feature a wide range of musicians interpreting works by Caroline Shaw, Ives, Matthew Aucoin, Jessie Montgomery, and a poem by Pablo Neruda. While the majority of the performers are instrumentalists, mezzo-soprano Sophia Baete will be the lone vocalist, taking on the world premiere of Aucoin’s “This Earth,” a new work for voice and large ensemble.

Baete is a Jerome L. Green Fellow at The Juilliard School. She participated in the SongStudio earlier this year and also appeared in the conservatory’s production of “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges.” This summer, she heads to Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as a Gerdine Young Artist for the second straight year. She has performed with such organizations as the New York Festival of Song as well as Lincoln Center and Caramoor.
